For our cover story about @Madonna at 60, the French artist @jr photographed the pop icon interacting with famous photos of her younger self. JR printed the images by Herb Ritts, @_katesimon and Steven Meisel at enormous sizes and Madonna started playing around with them. For the cover, we liked an image of her peering through a slit cut into the eye of an enlarged detail of the portrait by Meisel — it seemed to underscore the savvy ways in which Madonna has built her image over the decades. The silver tone emphasizes the surreal juxtaposition of the current Madonna, in color, peeking through the classic black-and-white portrait of an earlier Madonna. — @kathyryan. Così Madonna, dalle pagine del New York Times, è tornata con la memoria a Rebel Heart, nel 2015, sua ultima fatica completamente leakkata settimane prima dell’uscita ufficiale.
Madge ha poi rivelato di non sopportare più le sue canzoni più iconiche.

“Se sono in macchina o vado in un ristorante, se sono fuori da qualche parte e una delle mie canzoni inizia a suonare, disapprovo. Probabilmente perché le ho già sentite 5 miliardi di volte, e voglio evitare che si ripeta”.

Vallo a dire a Mariah Carey, che aspetta 11 mesi l’anno l’arrivo di dicembre.
